Mental Health Services
Aaron Braun, ASW
Aaron’s training began at the Floortime Institute in Washington, DC. where he gained a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies associated with the neurodiverse community. Working alongside occupational therapists and speech pathologists, he learned to appreciate and account for individual sensory and developmental profiles. Additionally, he observed that dietary complications often presented for many of his clients and expanded his practice to incorporate feeding strategies.
More recently Aaron trained at UCSF hospital with the Infant-Parent program, where he immersed himself in infant-parent psychotherapy and focused on ways to bring parents and caregivers into the therapeutic process. This transformative opportunity solidified much of what he had already come to know through years of experience: meaningful change occurs when everyone is invested.
Aaron’s work with young and older adolescents was strengthened during his time as a counselor in a public high-school wellness center. This important opportunity lent insight and valuable experience in the areas of anxiety, trauma and feelings of isolation.
Aaron has since gone on to complete a Masters in Clinical Social Work from San Jose State University and is currently completing his supervision at EACS. Aaron’s years of experience with the neurodiverse community makes him an ideal mental health professional for those who attend EACS or those who are seeking affirming support.
Aaron’s scope of work includes supporting the following profiles - autistic, sensory processing disorder, ADHD, behavioral vulnerabilites, trauma, anxiety, feeding issues and diet modification.
